Five Celebrities Hooked on World Of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is the first game that comes to mind when discussing the most iconic MMORPGs of the last few decades. It’s no surprise that WoW has received numerous expansions — from updated classic versions of older to fan-favorite ones. All these allow players to relive the golden days when the player base peaked at over 12 million. Among such a massive fan base, there are celebrities as well. Some of them have stopped playing, while others continue to save Azeroth in their free time away from the public eye. After all, celebrities are also people; they love the same things as we do.

Some of them even use WoW carry services as they don’t have much time for grinding and dungeon farming. If it is the case of yours, then you can always follow their example. Otherwise, keep reading to know 5 celebrities who have played one of the greatest games of our time — World of Warcraft.

#1 — Angela Sarafyan

This beautiful American actress is best known for her role as Clementine Pennyfeather in the TV series Westworld. She was also featured in The Twilight Saga and has won the hearts of millions of people from around the globe. But who would guess that Clementine is also interested in “magical places” outside of work and that she loves to play WoW in her spare time? The actress once mentioned that the game is “cozy” and that she plays it with friends. Clementine doesn’t limit herself to acting; she also attends BlizzCon as she is very interested in further development of her favorite game.

#2 — Jamie Lee Curtis

Even though Jamie Lee Curtis is 65 years old, she still actively participates in various World of Warcraft events. With this in mind, it is no wonder why the WoW community considers her one of its most famous members who popularize the game and makes it well-loved among a wide audience. Thus, Curtis attended the “Warcraft” movie premiere in 2016 dressed as an orc. Having attended BlizzCon in 2015 as Forsaken in the hopes that no one would recognize her, she is also no stranger to the convention. Later, she shared a picture of herself at BlizzCon 2015 on social media, captioning it, “Went incognito 2 BlizzCon 2015. @Warcraft It was E P I C! What a wonderful World of Warcraft this is. #BlizzCon 2015.”

#3 — Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis is another famous actress in the World of Warcraft community. She started her gaming career during her relationship with Macaulay Culkin. Kunis became highly engaged in the game, particularly in PvE content, and raided extensively to the point where it began to feel like an addiction. Fortunately, she managed to pull herself together in time. Now, she is raising two beautiful children, 10-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle and 8-year-old son Dimitri, with her husband Ashton Kutcher. The actress still loves to play from time to time.

#4 — Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel’s love of gaming and his status as an alpha geek in Hollywood are well known. His tattoo of “Melkor” — one of his favorite D&D characters — proves it well. So, it’s no surprise that when he came across a certain video of himself playing World of Warcraft, he wanted to share it with the world. One evening after Fast and Furious and XXX, he posted a video on his Facebook page of him playing World of Warcraft with a friend, adding the caption:

Found a clip from four years ago and wanted to share it… haha… memories, even in the gaming world.

P.S. Never guess who was playing these two toons…

#5 — Henry Cavill

Although 8 years have passed since the release of the Warcraft movie, there are still some rumors about this film. This isn’t surprising given the game’s millions-strong, loyal fan base clamoring for a continuation. The fake poster for the film ‘Wrath of the Lich King’ featuring Henry Cavill as Arthas Menethil sparked particular excitement. Since then, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, even among Blizzard developers.

Company co-founder Chris Metzen, senior writer Christy Golden, and assistant narrative designer Anne Stickney have all voiced support for Cavill in the role. The actor himself responded to the picture, tagging Blizzard and suggesting they ‘whisper him in a game’ to discuss further.

Fans of the game also believe that a story centered around Arthas, one of Warcraft’s most famous antagonists, may have a better chance of success. Such focus on individual characters rather than attempting to encapsulate the entire essence of the Horde and Alliance conflict within a two-hour timeframe. And while the future of the film’s continuation remains uncertain, one thing is clear: when the actor was asked whether he chose the Horde or the Alliance, Henry Cavill’s answer was unequivocal – the Alliance.

Conclusion

As you can see, there is a whole pack of celebrities belonging to the vast army of World of Warcraft fans. The game definitely attracts both ordinary players and famous people. And this once again speaks volumes about its immersive world, compelling gameplay, and enduring cultural impact.
