As we bid farewell to July, most folks are no doubt keenly aware of the value and need for air-conditioning this time of year. But can air-conditioning in July ever really be a bad thing? According to avant-garde metal legends Mr. Bungle, not only is the answer “yes”, but apparently, it can actually be a “nightmare”, especially if you happen to be trapped inside somewhere you don’t want to be. Such is the case of the subject in their darkly peculiar tune “Air Conditioned Nightmare”, which is performed in all its schizophrenic glory at the (aptly titled) Bizarre Fest from way back in the year 2000. We’re not sure if the unfortunate character in the song is stuck in a hospital, nursing home, or maybe rehab, but it doesn’t really matter, considering this is Mr. Bungle we’re talking about. As always, it’s the inexplicable nature of the music itself that usually steals the show, which is definitely the case in this performance. Enjoy:
