“‘Elevator Music’ dives into the complexities of a romantic relationship where you feel unheard and misunderstood by your partner,” explains Pitt. “I tried to capture the dissonance of having someone to call yours while simultaneously feeling lonely and isolated. Through this song, I wanted to explore that tension, highlighting how love can sometimes feel ironic and confusing. Even though there’s a sad theme, I had fun weaving in bright and playful guitar and synth sounds and trying to create a musical juxtaposition that almost convinces listeners to find happiness in the midst of confusion and disconnect.
