A Memory of Music: December 2010

Unfortunately, not all of our favorite musicians were good this year, as Willie Nelson spent some time on the Naughty List of a Texas county jail. Arrested for alleged marijuana possession, Willie spent a few hours in jail before posting the $2,500 bond.

Hidden Track faves RAQ made their first appearance at the Brooklyn Bowl on December 4th. The evening also included old friend and original keyboardist Marc Scortino sitting in on the band’s Wax as well as strapping on the Keytar for a cover of Cheap Sunglasses. RAQ returns to the stage as the opener for moe. at the House of the Blues in Boston on Dec. 30th, while fans of the Disco Biscuits can get Chris Michetti on tour with Conspirator and with Jon Gutwillig as they debut their new project SUB:STATION on December 28th.

Speaking of moe., this past month saw them celebrate their belated Electric Lemoe.Nade Acid Test at the Washington Avenue Armory on December 4th. In the weeks leading up to the show, Al Schnier, Chuck Garvey and Rob Derhak played a series of intimate shows  under the moniker DiSGRACe. Often seated in comfy chairs, with lighting brought on stage that would be more-suited for someone’s man cave than a public performance, the guys ran through a series of moe. hits, both old and new.

In what is becoming another holiday tradition, the guys of From Good Homes reunited once more for two nights at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ. Fan favorites included Second Red Barn on The Right, Radio On and Raindance as well as covers of Trampled Underfoot, Atlantic City and Girl From The North Country. Saturday night’s show is available via bit torrent at etree.org.

In closing we’d like to thank our contributors Tim Hara, Chris Becker and Sam Friedman for this month’s images. If you have a photo you would like to share with us for next month’s column let us know and to all of us from Hidden Track and Memory of Music, we wish you a good holidays and a Happy New Years.
