Warren Haynes Band: Details Emerge + Christmas Jam 2002 CD

One of the artists we featured in the 10 Bands We’re Excited About in 2011 was the Warren Haynes Band, but at the time not many details were available about the ABB/Gov’t Mule guitarist’s forthcoming “soul” album and who would make up the touring version of the band. Today, Billboard.com posted a piece on the WHB that includes a track listing for Man In Motion, which is set for a May 10 release, and further word on the band members.

While Nigel Hall broke the news via Facebook that he will be the Warren Haynes Band keyboardist for the group’s forthcoming tour, the Billboard article reveals that New Orleans drummer Terrence Higgins is also a part of the ensemble. No word yet on whether the album’s bass player, George Porter Jr., will be out on the road with Warren, but the article mentions “[Ivan] Neville and [Ruthie] Foster are up in the air at the moment.” The WHB made its debut at last December’s Christmas Jam with a lineup featuring Haynes, Neville, Ron Johnson, Higgins, Ron Holloway and Foster.

Here is the track list for Warren Haynes’ Man In Motion:

“Man in Motion”
“River’s Gonna Rise”
“Everybday Will Be Like a Holiday”
“Sick of My Shadow”
“Your Wildest Dreams”
“Real Lonely Night”
“Hattiesburg Hustle”
“A Friend to You”
“Take a Bullet”
“Save Me”

In other Warren-related news, the oft-delayed Warren Haynes Presents: The Benefit Concert Volume 4, featuring highlights from the 14th Annual Christmas Jam in 2002, is set for a March 22 release according to Brainwashed.com.  Tracks include acoustic versions of U2’s One and James Taylor’s Carolina In My Mind from Warren, Dave Schools and Jerry Joseph teaming up for Climb to Safety, moe. performing a Dark Star jam into Mexico, Bob Weir and Friends’ take on Shakedown Street and nearly all of the event’s performers joining Gov’t Mule for Simple Man.

UPDATE: We’ve been advised that the release date listed by Brainwashed.com is incorrect. At the moment, there is no scheduled release date for Volume 4. Let’s hope this changes soon!
