Ever since word came down that Paul Simon is planning to reunite with Ladysmith Black Mambazo for a Graceland Tour to celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary, I can’t stop thinking about the possibilities for this run. I even stopped by YouTube to check out Simon and Ladysmith performing Diamonds On The Soles of Her Shoes from The African Concert in 1987. We should also mention that today is Paul Simon’s birthday. Happy 70th to a musician who has stood the test of time and nearly 50 years after the formation of Simon and Garfunkel is still putting out brilliantly-crafted material such as Rewrite from this year’s So Beautiful or So What.
