Lorin Ashton aka Bassnectar is releasing the album, VAVA VOOM, on April10th via his own indy Amorphous Music label, which he has utilized as a launching pad for a series of groundbreaking releases including 2010’s Timestretch and 2011’s Divergent Spectrum which reached #3 on the main iTunes chart as well as #1 on the electronic chart for months and featured the wildly successful Ellie Goulding ‘Lights’ remix (was in the top 10 on iTunes Electronic chart for 28 weeks straight and at #1 for 12 weeks). The new album showcases Ashton’s wide array of influences from hip hop tracks featuring multi Grammy nominated artist Lupe Fiasco and both members of famed duo Zion I to beautiful atmospheric tracks painting dreamy landscapes with ethereal vocals, as well as a tribute to California Skate-punk legends Pennywise and also including a sample of his high school death metal band, from a song he wrote at age 16.
