Over the course of the past weekend, Wilco front-man Jeff Tweedy played two solo sold out shows at Chicago

As expected, the Black Crowes reunion has grown into a full-blown tour, and the band has finally unveiled details of the musicians who will back founding sibling duo Chris and Rich Robinson at the band’s first gigs since October 2001.

Guitarist Marc Ford is back in the fold for the first time since 1997, while Bill Dobrow, who played with Rich Robinson in the short-lived band Hookah Brown, will take over for Steve Gorman on drums.

Bassist Sven Pipien returns for the first time since his less-than-amicable departure in 2000, while longtime keyboardist Eddie Hawyrsch will round out the group.

Beyond the Crowes’ previously announced seven-show run at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom later this month, plus appearances at Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, more than 20 new dates have been confirmed through mid-June.

Additional shows are expected to be added, as is another touring leg later this summer.

Handsome Boy Modeling School will later this month embark on its first full-scale tour in support of its sophomore album, “White People.” Producers Dan “The Automator” Nakamura and Prince Paul will assume their respective alter-egos of Nathaniel Merriweather and Chest Rockwell for the trek, which begins March 28 in Los Angeles.

Various special guests will join the group throughout the tour, but a spokesperson declined to provide specifics. On “White People,” the duo is augmented by everybody from members of Linkin Park and Franz Ferdinand to rapper Del the Funky Homosapien and hip-hop legends such as Grand Wizard Theodore and Jazzy Jay.

The Benevento/Russo Duo featuring Mike Gordon have added two new dates in Georgia before their late night Jazzfest appearance at the end of April. The group will be performing at the Georgia Theatre in Athens on Wednesday, April 27th and at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta on Thursday, April 28th.

After five months in the studio at work on his forth-coming solo album, Trey will hit the road for three weeks this spring with a new group of supporting musicians.

A portion of the proceeds from every show will be donated by Trey to a local homeless shelter in each city along the tour. More information about the organizations receiving funding will be posted on Trey’s site.

A limited quantity of tickets for all shows will be available beginning March 8 at 10 AM EST via our secure online ticketing system located at treytickets.rlc.net. Surprise Me Mr. Davis, a touring and recording outfit featuring The Slip and Nathan Moore have announced an eight show run.

Surprise Me Mr. Davis is a band comprised of Brad Barr [guitar, vocals], Andrew Barr [drums] and Marc Friedman [bass] of The Slip, and poet/songwriter Nathan Moore [guitar, vocals]. With veteran acts and latter day heroes on the bill, the Vans Warped Tour will bring a full slate of punk rock and action sports to venues across the United States for an 11th time this summer. Although specific dates have not been revealed, organizers are planning a March 15 Internet ticket pre-sale at Warpedtour.com.

At deadline, an initial lineup of 60 acts are confirmed to appear, with more to be added. As previously reported, the Offspring, the Transplants, Thrice, My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy have already acknowledged their participation on the tour.

Among the other acts slated to appear are Motion City Soundtrack, Dropkick Murphys, Senses Fail, Underoath, Atreyu, Tsunami Bomb, Avenged Sevenfold, the Explosion, the Matches, Hawthorne Heights, Strung Out, the Bled, Horrorpops and the Starting Line. The full lineup of confirmed acts is listed below.

Acts will entertain audiences across two main stages, a second stage sponsored by Hurley and eight other branded stages, one of which will be set up just outside each venue. As has become the norm for this outing, not all bands will play all dates.

Tapping myriad sponsors for the tour’s various stages and attractions helps organizers keep ticket prices affordable. One new sponsored music feature is dubbed Energizer Keeps the Music Going, where advance online voting will award one band at each date a 10-minute set extension.

On the sports side, 2005 will bring a daily Amateur Skate Jam, where professionals will judge 20 local skaters at each stop and award prize money. A Punk Junk donation center will benefit local homeless shelters, with needed items listed on the tour Web site and a tour sponsor gift given to those who contribute.

The rock band moe. hosted a charity concert to benefit Tsunami survivors New York’s Roseland Ballroom, Thursday, February 10. The band raised $75,000. Dave Matthews Band matched that number for a total donation of $150,000. All proceeds from the event went to DMB’s Bama Works Village Recovery Fund.

moe. hit the stage and tore into three moe. fan favorites: “Rebubula”, “Mexico” with John Medeski on keyboards and Sam Bush on mandolin, and “Plane Crash” with Medeski. Former Phish guitar Trey Anastasio then joined moe. and Bush on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” to end the first set.

The second set included a solo acoustic performance by Anastasio of Phish tunes “Chalkdust Torture” and “Wilson”. The show closed with Frank Zappa’s “Peaches En Regalia” and just before midnight – J.J. Cale’s “After Midnight.”

About Bama Works Village Recovery Fund

Bama Works Fund (Charlottesville, Virginia) was established by Dave Matthews Band to carry out the band’s commitment to charitable works both close to home and around the world. In the wake of one of the most devastating natural disasters in modern history, Dave Matthews Band has created the Bama Works Village Recovery Fund. The fund will identify an affected village on the east coast of Sri Lanka, partnering with them on a long-term basis to rebuild their community.

Live tracks from Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews and the Dead lead the track list for “Bonnaroo 2004,” an audio chronicle of the third edition of the Manchester, Tenn.-based music festival. The double-disc set is due April 5 via Sanctuary.

Among the highlights are Dylan’s set-opening “Down Along the Cove,” the Dead’s “Self Defense,” Steve Winwood’s version of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” the Black Keys’ run through “The Breaks” and My Morning Jacket’s “One Big Holiday.”

Other artists featured on the set include Gov’t Mule, Kings Of Leon, Ween, Primus, Trey Anastasio, Los Lonely Boys and String Cheese Incident.

As previously reported, the 2005 edition of Bonnaroo will be held June 10-12 and feature performances by Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, Anastasio, the Black Crowes and the Allman Brothers Band.

Wilco, String Cheese Incident and Gov’t Mule are among the acts confirmed to appear at Kansas’ second annual Wakarusa Festival. The three-day jam band-oriented “celebration of music and Mother Nature” will boast more than 50 artists on three stages near Lawrence, Kan.

Presented by Fat Tire Amber Ale, the June 17-19 festival will also feature Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Umphrey’s McGee, Little Feat, Ozomatli, Jazz Mandolin Project, North Mississippi Allstars, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Son Volt, Particle, Neko Case, the Samples, John Brown’s Body and Junior Brown, among others.

Wakarusa also offers a slate of activities ranging from mountain biking and nature hikes to wind surfing and canoe rentals. Organizers have also added a secluded family campground and children’s concerts and activities to this year’s event. A 24-hour general store will provide a full range of food and merchandise.

A limited number of $79 tickets are available through the event’s Web site. All tickets include concert admission, camping and free parking, with camping upgrades and VIP tickets ($295) also available.
