10 years ago today (8/7/07), Okkervil River released their fourth LP The Stage Names. The album was recorded in Austin, Texas, with longtime Okkervil producer Brian Beattie, and with mixing from Spoon drummer and producer Jim Eno. Part film score and autobiography the album holds its itself to an upper level of excellence due to front-man Will Sheff’s ambitious lyrical work over songs of the highest quality.
