15 Years Ago Today – OutKast Becomes First Hip Hop Grammy Album Of Year Winners With Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (Watch “Roses” Video)

15 years ago today (2/8/04), OutKast becomes the first hip-hop act to win a Grammy for Album of the Year when Speakerboxxx/The Love Below gets the award.  Issued as a double album, its playtime of more than two hours is distributed over solo albums from each of the group’s members. Big Boi’s Speakerboxxx is a Southern hip hop album with a P-Funk influence, while André 3000’s The Love Below features psychedelic, pop, funk, electro, and jazz styles. In honor of all healthy bowel movements, let’s revisit the classic video for “Roses” off Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
