15 years ago today (6/21/01), blues legend John Lee Hooker died at age 88. Hooker is best known for developing his own driving-rhythm boogie style of blues as exemplified in “Boom Boom” (1962), and “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” (1966). Hooker’s songs have been covered by many and his playing style is truly original and difficult to copy. Watch Hooker perform this full show at the Newport Jazz Fest live in 1991.
