23 Years Ago Today – Jamiroquai Release Their Debut LP ‘Emergency on Planet Earth’ In U.S. (Watch “Too Young To Die” Live ’93)

23 years ago today (8/10/93), Jamiroquai released their debut LP Emergency on Planet on Earth in the United States. Incorporating funk and acid jazz and the get down canned heat vocals of Jay Kay, the British funkateers were the 90’s version of disco while adding a worldly flair courtesy of the didgeridoo that was common in many of the band’s songs. Jamiroquai would go on to greater commercial success with 1996’s Travelling Without Moving and the hit “Virtual Insanity,”but  it still feels like the band never fully reached their potential in states and should have been headlining festivals. Lets watch Jamiroquai perform “Too Young To Die” from Emergency live in 1993 at Japan’s Club Citta.
