25 Years Ago Today -The Black Crowes Welcome Marc Ford and Eddie Harsch & Release ‘The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion’ (Watch “Thorn in My Pride” Live ’93)

25 years ago today (5/12/92), The Black Crowes released their second studio LP The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion.  It was the first record by the band to feature Marc Ford on lead guitar and Eddie Harsch on keys and features a number of standout tracks that became iconic Crowes tunes. “Remedy,” “Sting Me,” “Thorn in My Pride” and”Hotel Illness” all were singles, while the rest of the album contains zero filler. A remarkable album considering it was released in the height of the alternative/grunge movement. Watch the band “Thorn in My Pride” Live ’93.
