25 years ago today (4/9/96), Gillian Welch released her debut album – Revival. Like all her other albums to follow, Revival would include work with her musical partner David Rawlings, as Welch supplies the harmonies and Rawlings the lead instrumentation. Although their album release schedule is somewhat sparse of late (three albums since 2003), Revival stands as an important document in the ’90s to modern Bluegrass/Americana scene.
