25 years ago today (9/9/95), Kyuss performed their last-ever show, at Festa Dell Unita, in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Although the term desert stoner rock is overused to describe the Palm Desert, CA, that’s essentially what they were and damn good at it. Featuring vocalist John Garcia, guitarist Josh Homme, bassist Nick Oliveri and drummer Brant Bjork as originators, the band went through a few lineup changes over the course of four well-received albums. Homme and Oliveri would go onto form Queens of the Stone Age, which of course would have more commercial and touring success. Lucky for us, the full final show is on YouTube.
