25 years ago today (9/24/91), Nirvana changed the course of rock history and helped make alternative music the most dominant sound on radio and MTV with the release of their second LP Nevermind. Kurt Cobain became a new rock hero for a generation and the album itself spawned a number of huge hits including “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Of course a young Dave Grohl was the drummer on Nevermind, providing the propulsive beats to a concept that Cobian was aiming to sound like “The Knack and the Bay City Rollers getting molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.” Mission accomplished and more…..
