30 Years Ago Today – At Farm Aid IV, Guns N’ Roses Play Last Show With Steven Adler As Drummer (Watch “Civil War” Farm Aid IV)

30 years ago today (4/7/90) Guns N’ Roses played their last show with Steven Adler as their official drummer at Farm Aid IV at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis. Adler was fired from the band due to his ongoing drug abuse and was replaced later by Matt Sorum, the former drummer of The Cult. Adler joined the band a few months after the band’s formation and was the drummer on the band’s first full two lengths: Appetite for Destruction and G N’ R Lies. On the July 6, 2016 stop of the Not in This Lifetime… Tour in Cincinnati, Ohio, Adler joined Guns N’ Roses for performances of “Out Ta Get Me” and “My Michelle”, which marked his first appearance with the band since his 1990 firing and he later made three other guest appearances. Watch Guns N’ Roses perform “Civil War” at Farm Aid ’90, their last show with Adler.
