30 Years Ago Today – Bon Jovi Hits Hair Metal Euphoria With ‘Slippery When Wet” (Watch “Living On A Prayer” & “Wanted Dead Or Alive” Acoustic)

30 years ago today (8/18/86), Bon Jovi released what many consider the biggest hair metal album of all time Slippery When Wet. Loaded with three huge singles “You Give Love a Bad Name”, “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive”- this this third album from New Jersey’s Bon Jovi catapulted them to superstars and the biggest stages in the world. Although their sound was more mainstream than their heavier first two albums, the songs off Slippery, particularly the tree pre-mentioned hits are woven continually into the 80’s hard rock/aqua net culture. Watch Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi perform this remarkably solid acoustic rendition of ” Living On A Prayer” & “Wanted Dead Or Alive” acoustic at the MTV Video Awards in 1989.
