30 Years Ago Today- Stevie Ray Vaughan Dies at 35 in Helicopter Crash Near Alpine Valley (Listen to His Last Show)

30 years ago today (8/27/90), Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed at age 35 when the helicopter he was flying in crashed in the fog right outside Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. That night Vaughan had played a show at Alpine Valley with Robert Cray & His Memphis Horns, and Eric Clapton. Vaughan was informed by a member of Clapton’s crew that three seats were open on a helicopter returning to Chicago with Clapton’s crew, it turned out there was only one seat left; Vaughan requested it from his brother, who obliged. Three members of Clapton’s entourage were also killed. In honor and memory of the talented and great Stevie, lets listen to his last show from that night in southern Wisconsin.
