30 Years Ago Today – Stone Temple Pilots Release Second Album ‘Purple’

30 years ago today (6/7/94), the prosperous Stone Temple Pilots mid-90s run continued with the release of their second studio album, Purple. Fueled by the anthemic radio hits “Interstate Love Song” and “Big Empty”- STP certainly helped nationalize the alt-grunge movement to its peak, as the band certainly reached its apex here following 1992’s hit stacked debut Core.
