34 years ago today (9/30/82), Bruce Springsteen released his sixth studio album Nebraska. Often sited as the Springsteen album non Springsteen fans would most enjoy, Nebraska hold its own as a vital singer-songwriter album and a timeless song cycle. Sparsely-recorded on a cassette-tape Portastudio, the tracks on Nebraska were originally intended as demos of songs to be recorded with the E Street Band, but instead released a solo album. Watch The Boss perform “Highway Patrolman” from Nebraska live during his 2005 Devils & Dust tour.
