37 Years Ago Today- Led Zeppelin Release Their Final Studio LP Of New Songs ‘In Through The Out Door’ (Watch “In The Evening” Live ’79)

37 years ago today (8/15/79), Led Zeppelin releases their eighth and final studio album In Through The Out Door. It would be the last album released by the band while John Bonham was still alive. Unlike Zeppelin’s prior albums, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones took a leadership role in songwriting, which signified a new twist in the band’s songs that were less riff driven and more keyboards and a big soft ballad “All of My Love” which unfairly gave the LP a  “watered-down” label. One view of this live at Knebworth ’79 take on “In The Evening” off In Through The Outdoor and Jimmy Page is riffing just as dynamic.
