40 Years Ago Today – Joy Division Release Debut LP ‘Unknown Pleasures’ (Watch “Transmission” & “She’s Lost Control” Live)

40 years ago today (6/15/79), Joy Divison released their debut LP Unknown Pleasures. Featuring Ian Curtis, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris, Joy Division set the prototype for distinctive and disturbing, and beat and rhythm propelled post-punk. Of course, Curtis would die in 1980 and the remaining members woud start their own legacy as New Order. Check out “Transmission” and “She’s Lost Control” live
