40 Years Ago Today – Phil Collins Release Debut Solo LP ‘Face Value’ (Listen to “Behind the Lines”)

40 years ago (2/13/81), Phil Collins released his debut solo LP Face Value. While Collins stepped out behind the drum kit of Genesis as lead singer through three albums prior to Face Value, this album helped launch one of the most successful solo career in the 80’s. Collins scored two huge hits on this album including “In the Air Tonight” and “Missed Again,” as special guests on this debut included Eric Clapton and Alphonso Johnson. Listen to “Behind The Lines” which Collins also recorded with Genesis on 1980’s stellar Duke LP.
