40 Years Ago Today – Pink Floyd Releases ‘Animals’ LP (Watch “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” Live ’17 Waters)

40 years ago today (1/23/77), Pink Floyd released what many consider to be their finest and greatest LP –Animals. Loosely based on George Orwell’s political fable Animal Farm, the album’s lyrics describe various classes in society as different kinds of animals: the combative dogs, the despotic ruthless pigs, and the “mindless and unquestioning herd” of sheep. Most recently, Waters performed “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” live on his Us  + Them tour and it featured Donald Trump with a Klan hood, without pants (showing a tiny penis), with his head on a pig and with the word “charade” (referencing a lyric in the song) written over his face.
