40 Years Ago Today -Rush Release ‘Permanent Waves’ LP (Listen to “Natural Science” R40)

40 years ago today (1/14/80) Rush released Permanent Waves, their seventh studio album. “The Spirit of Radio” and “Freewill” become dominate radio hits and become therfirst to reach the Top 5 on the US Albums chart, where it peaks at #4. The album represents a new direction for the band, with songs becoming denser and more radio-friendly, as they would release their U.S. biggest seller Moving Pictures next.
