42 Years Ago Today – AC/DC Perform First Ever Live Show (Watch “Can I Sit Next To You Girl”)

42 years ago today (12/31/73), AC/DC performed their first ever live show, although the band was still in its true “school boy” stage and featured only Angus and Malcom Young as players that would last into their more recognizable eras. In November 1973, Malcolm and Angus Young formed AC/DC and recruited bassist Larry Van Kriedt, vocalist Dave Evans, and Colin Burgess, ex-Masters Apprentices drummer.to play at Bondi Lifesaver in Sydney, Australia on New Year’s Eve, 1973. By this time, Angus Young had adopted his characteristic school-uniform stage outfit. Although there were no videos of that show, check out this video from 1974 of “Can I Sit Next To Your Girl” with Evans on lead vocals  just prior to Bon Scott joining as lead singer.
