44 Years Ago Today – Roxy Music Released Debut Studio LP (Watch “Remake/Remodel” Live ’72)

44 years ago today (6/16/72), Roxy Music released their self titled debut studio LP. The album is heavily regarded by critics and fans and is considered a pioneering effort in the art rock movement, including the stature of both Bryan Ferry and Brian Eno. Eno would leave the band following 1973’s For Your Pleasure, but Roxy Music would go onto release more critically acclaimed lps whose style and substance would influence later generations particularly that of Duran Duran and David Bowie’s early 80’s work. Watch this early carnation of the band perform “Remake/Remodel” live in ’72.
