45 years ago today (8/30/71), The Beach Boys released their underrated classic Surf’s Up. Although the album title indicates sun, surf and girls- the album is anything but – yet another experimental nod in the post Pet Sounds era for the Beach Boys. The album featured contributions from all members including Bruce Johnston who brought his most notable Beach Boys contribution afloat with “Disney Girls.”
