48 Years Ago Today – Ringo Starr Quits Beatles During White Album Sessions (Watch “Don’t Pass Me By” Live ’05)

48 years ago today (8/22/68), Ringo Starr quit The Beatles during The White Album sessions when the constant bickering and tension became too much for him. The news of Ringo’s departure was kept secret, and he rejoined the sessions on September 3rd. After Ringo walked out, the remaining Beatles recorded ‘Back In the USSR’, with Paul on drums and John playing bass. Of course the Beatles stopped performing live two years prior to The White Album, so lets watch Ringo perform live one of his  compositions from that album in 2005 -“Don’t Pass Me By.”
