8 years ago today (7/23/11), Amy Winehouse joined the 27 club – one that includes now many musicians who lost their life early as a result of drug and alcohol abuse. Winehouse’s debut album, Frank(2003), was nominated for the but it was her follow-up album, Back to Black (2006), that won multiple Grammy Awards that propelled Winehouse into one of the world’s biggest pop stars with a voice to back it all up mixed with a 60’s girl group persona and a twist of modern soul.
