50 years ago today (6/22/71), Joni Mitchell released her fourth studio album Blue – one that is undoubtedly the benchmark for singer-songwriter LPs. The album has been acclaimed by many to be a consistent top 20er of all time in many a list. In July 2017, Blue was chosen by NPR as the greatest album of all time made by a woman.
