50 Years Ago Today – The Late Dimebag Darrell is Born (Watch “Cemetery Gates” Live ’97)

50 years ago today (8/20/66) the late former lead guitarist of Pantera and later Damageplan,  Dimebag Darrell was born. Along with brother Vinnie Paul, Dimebag’s shredding and grinding guitar style helped lead Pantera as one of the most dominant metal bands of its time with classic albums as Cowboys from Hell (1990), Vulgar Display of Power (1992), Far Beyond Driven (1994) and The Great Southern Trendkill (1996). Dimebag lost his life in the most horrific way,as he was murdered onstage while performing with Damageplan at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio on 12/8/04. In memory of Dime lets watch this cut of “Cemetery Gates” live in 1997.
