50 years ago today (5/23/69), The Who released their ambitious double LP Tommy in the UK. -the album was released on 5/17/69 in the U.S. The album of couse was mostly composed by guitarist Pete Townshend, and is a rock opera that tells the story of Tommy Walker, a “deaf, dumb and blind” boy, including his experiences with life and his relationship with his family.
