65 years ago today (12/1/51), the late Jaco Pastorius was born. The eclectic bass player, best known for his work with Weather Report from 1976 to 1981, as well as work with artists including Joni Mitchell, Pat Metheny, and his own solo projects offered a unique technique and use of harmonics that was purely original and brought forth a new legion of listeners to the jazz genre.
