75 years ago today (8/1/42), the late great Jerry Garcia was born. As the lead guitarist, vocalist and premiere music maker with the Grateful Dead, Garcia’s influence ranks with the top of the list in iconic stature, but his songbook has given us perhaps more live shows and recordings this side of his living former bandmates (Lesh and Weir).
