Happy 58th birthday to Thurston Moore how was born on 7/25/58. It hard to say “former” singer, songwriter and guitarist of Sonic Youth, but Moore and the rest of the iconic band have been stagnant since his divorce with fellow band leader Kim Gordon in 2011. Moore is one of rock’s most experimental, redefining and innovative guitarists mixing avant garde, noise rock and punk together in a uniquely disturbingly melodic fashion. In 2012, Moore started a new band Chelsea Light Moving and in 2011 and 2014 released two critically acclaimed solo releases on Matador: Demolished Thoughts (2011) and The Best Day (2014).
