Happy 66th birthday today to Alex Lifeson of Rush (born on 8/27/53). As one of the most influential and at times underrated guitarists of all time, Lifeson’s soaring and power phrased leads led Rush’s songbook as one of the most revered of its kind. From “La Villa Stangiato” to “The Trees” to the dynamic work on Rush’s last two albums Snakes & Arrows and Clockwork Angels, Lifeson proves to be a lifelong student and master of the guitar.
