Happy 70th birthday today to Patti Smith who was born on 12/30/46. The influential singer-songwriter/poet known to many as the “punk poet laureate” is recognized for her 1975 debut Horses and was and still remains a pivotal figure in the NY arts scene. Smith has recorded 11 albums over the course of her career, the most recent being 2012’s Banga.
