Happy 70th Birthday Sammy Hagar (Watch “Bad Motor Scooter” by Montrose ’74)

Happy 70th birthday today to Sammy Hagar formerly of Montrose, Van Halen and currently of Chickenfoot and many other musical endeavors who was born on 10/13/47. Hagar is best known for replacing David Lee Roth in Van Halen and helped steer them towards a more polished pop direction in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Hagar also founded the Cabo Wabo Tequila brand and restaurant chain, as well as Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum. Check out Hagar leading Montrose through “Bad Motor Scooter” on the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1974.
