Happy 80th birthday today to Ms. Country Soul Jeannie Seely who was born on 7/6/40, Seely scored her biggest success with the Grammy Award-winning hit “Don’t Touch Me” in 1966 and later found success on collaborations with singer Jack Greene on “Can I Sleep in Your Arms” (1973) and “Lucky Ladies” (1974). After a hiatus beginning in the late 70’s Seely issued Life’s Highway (2003), a studio album that fused bluegrass with traditional country music and lately hosts both the Grand Ole Opry and of a weekly radio program on Sirius XM. This past June Seely released a new LP titled An American Classic. Listen to her duet with Willie Nelson off it titled “Not A Dry Eye in the House”
