It’s springtime and around here that means one thing: the music of Jerry Garcia. Normally our thoughts turn to JGB in one of its various incarnations but this year’s JG Stormy Mondays is heading down the acoustic path with a classic: May 5th, 1982 at the Oregon State Prison in Salem, OR. This is a stunning tight performance straight through, with an excellent pairing of Train to Cry (a real rarity for Garcia and Kahn) and Run for the Roses, and a phenomenal Reuben and Cherise encore. It doesn’t get any better.
