WATCH: The Latin Dead Feat. John Kadlecik Drop Spicy “Shakedown Street” Video

Watch out Bad Bunny, there’s a new Latin player spicing a familiar scene. The Latin Dead feat. John Kadlecik will release its debut album, Eyes Of The World on February 14th. In advance of the release the band has shared the video for the first single “Shakedown Street.” While there have been various incarnations of Grateful Dead-related reinterpretation projects over the years, this Latin project might be the most original idea yet. Led by the superlative guitarist Kadlecik, a founding member of both Dark Star Orchestra and Furthur, The Latin Dead brings a sala-fueled flavor to the songbook of Americana and Psych rock’s most enduring band. Latin legend Oscar Hernandez (4X Grammy winning pianist/composer/arranger/producer and leader of the Spanish Harlem Orchestra) is also a main player in Latin Lead. Check out the video below of this spicy take on The Dead’s most disco-flavored tune.

In support of the album, the band has announced a small California tour that begins on February 16 at The Mint in LA with stops at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley on February 18, and Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz on February 19. The band will also perform at the Skull & Roses festival in Ventura the weekend of April 19-23. Check out the full run of shows below on the tour poster.
