Deep Friday Blues: Seth Yacovone Blues Trio “All The Pain Through The Years” Live

Since a high-profile spot guesting with Phish early in his career (Worcester ’98), native Vermonter Seth Yacovone has transformed himself into something of a musical renaissance man. Not only does he lead two bands faithfully devoted to the estimable canon of the Grateful Dead, but in 2013, he began fronting a second trio under his own name. In addition, he regularly plays solo acoustic shows in which he mixes his own material with covers of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the Rolling Stones (as he did for some twenty years of Friday nights at Nectar’s). Amidst all that activity, Yacovone every so often plays with a blues trio like the one featured in this clip: it’s a righteous means for the burly peripatetic to not only clarify the roots of his music but also illustrate how those become manifest in his intrepid guitar playing.
