We’ve been having a bit of fun around HT HQ this week at the expense of Marcus Lambkin, who goes by the pseudonym Shit Robot. The electronic musician and DJ, who opened for LCD Soundsystem the last two nights, holds the distinction of having one of the truly amazing yet cringe-worthy band names out there. The name alone got us curious to actually check out some music, and we we’ll be the first to admit, we were kind of impressed with what we heard.
Shit Robot, who released his debut album From The Cradle To The Rave last September, fits right in with what we’ve come to expect from acts associated with DFA Records – electronic music for people who don’t necessary like electronic music. Let’s check out this video for Tuff Enuff…

As a reminder for those who couldn’t score tickets to LCD Soundsystem’s Last Show this Saturday at MSG, the fine folks at Pitchfork will be offering up the full couch tour experience with a free live video stream of the gig.

Shit Robot! Best name in the biz…and great tunes…couldn’t agree more…I love the instrumental Triumph! I stumbled across thise band a while back researching the DFA label…psyched that Marcus is getting a chance to shine, in front of the LCD fans…hey do you know if they are part of the video stream at the Fork? And Kyle…I don’t think you need to worry about a Hiatus…didn’t Phish tickets just go onsale for Watkins Glen?
@skip_is_underused i would guess they’ll be webcasting the whole night, but don’t hold me to that
