Clarence Clemons and Al Schnier Join Furthur

Furthur ended the best tour in the band’s short history tonight at the Mizner Amphitheater in Boca Raton, FL; where the group still had a few more tricks up their sleeves. Towards the end of Furthur’s first set, Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band as well as moe. guitarist Al Schnier came out to jam. The pair emerged for a pair of covers from the Grateful Dead’s repertoire – Howlin Wolf’s Little Red Rooster and Bobby Bland’s Turn on Your Lovelight.

Clemons made more than a few appearances with the Grateful Dead in the late ’80s starting on New Year’s Eve ’88 – ’89 and even did a run of shows with the Jerry Garcia Band in 1989. “The Big Man” currently lives in Florida while moe. is in the middle of a rare tour of The Sunshine State. Fittingly, Furthur finished this evening’s show with The End by The Beatles. Next up for Furthur is a pair of shows at Shoreline on June 3 and 4.
