Giveaway: Noah & The Whale @ Irving Plaza

There’s a good chance that you’re already familiar with the music of Noah & The Whale, though you may not even know it, as the band’s music has appeared in a number of television shows and commercials over the last few years. The U.K. act, whose name is a homage to the movie The Squid & The Whale and its director Noah Baumbach, were the first to break out from the same North London folk scene that has spawned Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling and Matthew And The Atlas. Earlier this year the band released their third full-length album Last Night On Earth, whose title is a direct nod to a Charles Bukowski poetry collection of the same name. Come this Saturday they will play a headlining show at New York’s Irving Plaza.

  1. every time there is a moment of silence or boredom in a car ride with my little brother he goes, “Hey Jon. I know what you need!” and pops on “LIFEGOESON”. it’s just become a long running joke between us, but I’m still loving the song!
