Thank God It’s Friday, amirite? We’re struggling over here after the unusual mid-week holiday. In an effort to keep you informed about what went down with three Hidden Track faves last night, and because we’re feeling super lazy, we’ll fill you in on last night’s the Disco Biscuits and Furthur tour openers as well as Umphrey’s show with Stanley Jordan in this one handy post.
Umphrey’s McGee at Center Stage – Peoria, Illin.
Yesterday, UM met up with old friend Stanley Jordan as the jazz fusion guitarist sat in with the band at various points during both sets and the encore of last night’s show at Center Stage in Peoria. Jordan, who last guested with Umphrey’s on December 30, 2008, came out towards the end of the first set to solo on relative rarity Liquid and stayed out for the ensuing jam as well as the 40’s Theme set closer. Stanley reemerged towards the end of the second set for a cover of Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’ by The Rolling Stones. The guitarist also joined the band for a rare Hajimemashite encore.

The Disco Biscuits at 9:30 Club – Washington, D.C.
After a five-month layoff, the Disco Biscuits returned to the stage as they kicked off the Road To Camp Bisco run at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Staying true to what Marc Brownstein mentioned in his interview with us, the band went with classic material for the first show back. In fact, according to our friends at Jambands.com, the entire first set featured songs from original drummer Sam Altman’s tenure in tDB, while the encore consisted of the first Frog Legs since 2010.
