For those of you that can’t wait until next Tuesday for My Morning Jacket’s Evil Urges to hit stores, we urge you (sorry for the cheap joke) to head over

Phish lyricist Tom Marshall spoke with PopMatters’ Robert Costa on Tuesday, and couldn’t stop talking about Phish getting back together. Tommy told Costa that he has been writing and recording
You might know him as Mr. Telluride, the King of Newgrass, or just the curly haired red-head who never stops a wailing on that mandolin – unless of course to wail on the fiddle or howl at the moon. As we gear up for the heart of festival season and that special little bluegrass jamboree just north of Durango, let’s get down to business and chat with one of the brightest sounds and smiles of every summer.
We’re speaking, of course, about Sam Bush of the Sam Bush Band, Newgrass Revival, the Bluegrass All-Stars, Strength in Numbers, and an ongoing list that could easy span the rest of the page. Thanks for taking the time Sam; it’s an honor.
Hidden Track: After a big 2006 and 2007, releasing the Laps in Seven album and the On the Road live DVD, what’s on tap from a commercial perspective for 2008?
Sam Bush: Going around the country playing gigs with my band (Byron House, Chris Brown, Scott Vestal, & Stephen Mougin), jamming at festivals with friends and enjoying the communication of music with the audience.

Some traditions lose their magic after a few years, but thankfully the Pangaea Project benefit shows continue to bring the community together on so many levels, and continue to provide some of the most magical musical moments Portland sees each spring.
Clinic’s latest batch of punchy British psychedelia, Do It!, is just about what you would expect from a jagged band who imbue a hazy sonic vision. The 11 tracks pulse with a classic fuzz-toned guitar, an acid-drenched set of rock songs that could’ve faired just as well on late-60s radio as it can today.
Every indie label has its niche, but Parks & Records also has a mission. They've combined a commitment to great music with the broader purpose of making the world a better (and greener) place.
Paul McCartney returned to Liverpool on Saturday night to play a benefit concert for The Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts with his band. Besides the usual selection of gems
So I’m perusing Genesis-Music.com the other day and click on an interview with Mr Collins about the release of their new gigantic DVD When in Rome, set to hit US Wal-Marts with a fury on June 10. Phil, like so many fraudulent times before, goes over his sentiments on “being off the road” and “focusing on family” and what not. HOWEVER, he oh-so-slyly slips in this epic gem of a quote:
There remains a possibility of doing a reunion performance of “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” with Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, but Collins said that will be “for something special” like a one-off performance rather than a full touring production.
File this one under the “Are You Fucking Kidding Me?” pile. Way to just slip in a bomb like that. I’m sure hardcore Rael fans started busting out their costumes for the occasion. READ ON for the whole interview from Phil and don’t forget to camp out in front of Wal-Mart on June 9, so you can be the first prog-geek on your block with a copy of Genesis’ final stop on their European Tour…
If you’re paying really careful attention to what I write in Cover Wars you might recall that I said I was going to ten straight weeks of Cover Album Wars instead of the older format where we had multiple versions of the same song. Well, I lied. This week I’m taking a request I have received and we’re taking a look at nine covers of Can’t Find My Way Home. CFMWH comes to us from the greatest super-group of all time: Blind Faith.
Blind Faith was a short lived band, releasing just the one self-titled album. Founding members Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood (who wrote the song we are discussing) recently performed three sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in February of 2008. However, the show was billed as Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood and not as Blind Faith.
Read on after the jump for some versions that you can only find on YouTube, the winner from last week’s column (it’s a first time winner), killer videos of Blind Faith Live and more.
You must register/login to Imeem to hear the audio clips in their entirety.
