48 years ago today (6/14/68), Iron Butterfly released their landmark second LP In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, which at the time helped pioneer the blend of psychedelic and hard rock into heavy metal. The 17 minute title track which spanned the entire second side providing a dramatic sound that stands as its own as a rock and roll first.
